National and Local Leaders Convene to Discuss Transportation Safety: Six Utah Communities among recipients of The Safe Streets and Roads for All Grants

SALT LAKE CITY (March 27, 2023) – Robin Hutcheson, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Administrator along with representatives from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC), Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County convened to discuss transportation safety in Utah. The past two years have seen some of the highest number of fatalities on our roadways, and safety is a top priority of national, state, and local leaders and transportation officials. Together the group considered Utah’s safety challenges, discussed solutions, and forged relationships that will allow Utah to address them collaboratively.

Salt Lake City – The Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC), in conjunction with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and the Utah Transit Authority (UTA), has identified hundreds of priority transportation projects totaling more than $7 billion to improve mobility, strengthen the economy, and enhance quality of life along the Wasatch Front. The public is now invited to provide input on the selected projects.

Golden Spoke Ride Returns for 5th Year to Celebrate Over 170 Miles of Safe, Separated, and Connected Trails

The Golden Spoke Ride returns this Saturday, May 14 to celebrate the joys of safely cycling along the longest, connected paved trail west of the Mississippi River (second longest in the United States). Two rides will start simultaneously at opposite ends of the trail at 8:00 a.m., with one starting at the High Adventure Park (251 W 18th Street) in Ogden, and the other in Riverside Park (1260 W 600 North) in Provo.
