Beehive Bikeways

The Beehive Bikeways Initiative is a vision and implementation plan for a network of high-quality, in-town trails that connect Wasatch Choice city and town centers. The Beehive Bikeways Network will enable more people to travel by bike for more reasons, more often. The first step in this initiative is the development of the vision, with local communities identifying routes and priorities.
Beehive Bikeways is coordinated by the Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC) with local governments, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), the Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG), the Utah Transit Authority (UTA), and Bike Utah.
Goals of the Beehive Bikeways
Collaborate to create a highly visible vision and implementation plan for a core set of high-quality, in-town trails that connect Wasatch Choice centers.
- The Beehive Bikeways will connect residents to a high percentage of existing centers through safe, convenient, and beautiful trails.
- The Beehive Bikeways vision will benefit from broad buy-in and a multi-agency commitment for implementation.
What are Wasatch Choice centers?
The Wasatch Choice Vision is our communities’ shared vision for coordinated transportation investments, development patterns, and economic opportunities. City and town centers are the hearts of our communities — walkable areas where activity is focused, with places to live, work, and play. The Beehive Bikeways will interconnect our centers.
